The project completed in 2025 involved the manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of a fully optimized profiling sawline—a first for Carbotech since the acquisition of Sawquip! For the primary breakdown line, the following equipment was installed: a stream feeder with even-ending transfer, a V-chain conveyor, a lineal optimizer, a quad-roll log turner, a sharp-chain optimized log infeed, a canter/profiler/quad, and an outfeed board separator.
For the secondary breakdown line, the following equipment was installed: a rotary cant turner, a scanning conveyor with a lineal optimizer, and a shape sawing and profiling gang. This line is designed to process softwood logs ranging from 8 to 20 feet in length and can operate at speeds of up to 600 feet per minute. The collaboration and commitment of the GreenFirst team throughout the execution of this project were greatly appreciated, and the results speak for themselves.
