In 2025, we started the project of cutting stems at Rex Lumber in Graceville, Florida. The objectives were to increase cutting capacity, facilitate and secure maintenance for the plant’s needs. To achieve this project, we installed a log merchandiser with 4 mobile saws, decks, conveyors, accurate electric log kickers, log unscramblers (Stream Feeder), and a metal detector, all integrated into the plant’s configuration. The MCC,s, VFD,s, PLC, controls and HMI were also part of the project. Thanks to close collaboration with the client, the cutting capacity has more than doubled, now reaching 12 logs per minute in an infinite position.
