In 2023, we started the project at Groupe Lebel’s sawmill in St-Michel-du-Squatec, Quebec. The objective of the project was to set up a log classification line for measuring and grading logs in order to improve product quality, and also to increase the plant’s throughput.

To achieve this, we installed log handling equipment to discharge the forestry trucks up to the log bins accessible to the loader.

The following equipment was installed: a MCC, a complete operating station, a reception transfer, a feed transfer, a stream feeder including a waste raker below, an acceleration conveyor, a V-chain conveyor, a Finnos scanner, an ejection conveyor, 31 high-speed log kickers and 31 log bins. Everything was installed by our team of experienced installers. This line is designed for logs from 8 ft to 10 ft and can produce at rates of 40 logs per minute or 600 feet per minute. Groupe Lebel‘s collaboration in the execution of this project was greatly appreciated and the results are proof of this.
